I have been reading Carlos Castaneda's teachings of Don Juan. I find that it has a lot in common with Yoga philosophy and expands on ideas such as Tapas that are presented in Yoga.

One of the key points about following his teachings of power and being a warrior is to never give advice. He says that advice must only be given by a sorceror and one who knows the truth explicitly, not by someone who merely thinks they know and does not have the experience to back it up. Doing such will be detremental to your own growth and the growth of the other.

Instead one should just live impeccably and trust in others to do the same
