The New World Order

Yesterday our Premier announced that the economic crisis should be treated as "the difficult birth-pangs of a new global order".

Upon hearing this I sat up and started listening intently to what he had to say, I couldn't believe that he had used such words so openly and to do with such a touchy subject such as the banking system. I have researched a lot of people's views on the banking systems current state and where it came from, and more importantly where it is going in the future, so this was important news for me.

What his speach was about seems to be a call for a global central bank, although this was not explicitly stated, and he warns that if this is not done then it will imperil all of our prosperities (sounds familiar).

Brown asks for "a consensus which imbeds international financial market[sic] markets in a framework that is global in governance and accountability" or a single global central bank by any other name, and as I know (thanks to the Zeitgiest people) a similar thing was done in 1913 in the US which started the principal of a national central bank.

The national central banks are widely believed to be a failure by the populous as they only serve to make the fat cats fatter and poor are kicked in the teeth (as usual), and it seems that the existing world bank and the IMF are not enough. With a single global central bank running the show I cannot personally see the future being any better at all. It will not avert future catastrophe's, as is the claim, and will only servre to make the worlds richest stratopherically richer, while poverty will spread and many millions will die all across the globe, or live in servitude, but then maybe that's what "they" want.

So does this move by Brown effectively make him the leader of the new world order now that Bush has gone? Time will tell... but it certainly seems that the economic crisis is going to be good for a few.

Laz Update...

From the following website that I came across I've copied in some relevant quotes:

http://www.thepeoplesvoice.org/cgi-bin/blogs/voices.php/2008/09/23/p28917

Richard A. Falk, wrote in his article Toward a New World Order: Modest Methods and Drastic Visions (from the 1975 book On the Creation of a Just World Order):

The existing order is breaking down at a very rapid rate, and the main uncertainty is whether mankind can exert a positive role in shaping a new world order or is doomed to await collapse in a passive posture. We believe a new world order will be born no later than early in the next century and that the death throes of the old and the birth pangs of the new will be a testing time for the human species.

David Rockefeller said circa 1994:

We are on the verge of a global transformation. All we need is the right major crisis and the nations will accept the New World Order.
